Dr. Godbout began her academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education at the University of Montreal. She then completed her medical degree and specialized in orthopedic surgery at the University of Montreal. Her interest in sports medicine led her to the University of Calgary, where she completed a fellowship in sports surgery, specializing in shoulder and knee arthroscopy. Subsequently, she obtained a master’s degree in medical education and a graduate diploma in medical expertise and insurance at the University of Montreal, while starting her practice at the CHUM.<\/p>\n

Since 2008, she has been practicing orthopedic surgery focused on sports medicine and injuries of the shoulder and knee. Ten years later, she took on the challenge of starting a new orthopedic service at Notre-Dame Hospital, which became part of the CIUSSS Centre-Sud de l’\u00cele de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n

As an Associate Professor at the University of Montreal, she has been involved for over 10 years in musculoskeletal training for medical students and residents from various programs (family medicine, orthopedics, physiatry). She has also been heavily involved in continuing education for family physicians, participating as a trainer and contributing to the development of shoulder\/knee days by the AQMSE in collaboration with the FMOQ. She has written several articles for the journal Le M\u00e9decin du Qu\u00e9bec and has been invited to speak on numerous occasions by the AOQ, AQMSE, and FMOQ. Additionally, she has actively participated in the boards of various associations since the beginning of her practice and is currently the president of the Quebec Orthopedic Association.<\/p>\n

Dr. Charles Turcotte graduated from the orthopedic surgery program at the University of Montreal in 2016. He worked for one year at the University Center in Moncton, New Brunswick, before completing a subspecialty in trauma and reconstruction in Toronto. Since 2018, he has been working at Notre-Dame Hospital, focusing primarily on joint replacements of the knee, hip, and shoulder, as well as sports medicine of the knee.<\/p>\n

With a background in occupational therapy, Dr. James Moore pursued his medical studies and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Montreal. He then completed additional training with a subspecialty in foot and ankle surgery, as well as robot-assisted arthroplasty, in Sydney. Since 2018, he has been a member of the orthopedic service at Notre-Dame Hospital, where he serves as the head of the department. He enjoys a diverse general orthopedic practice that continuously stimulates and encourages him to develop his knowledge and technical skills.<\/p>\n

Dr. Yuh is an associate neurosurgeon at CHU Sainte-Justine and Notre-Dame Hospital CHUM. He is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Montreal. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Ottawa, where he also completed a residency in neurosurgery. Thanks to a Detweiler scholarship awarded by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, he completed a spine fellowship at the University of Calgary, followed by additional training in pediatric spine surgery at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. His surgical expertise includes general and pediatric neurosurgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive spine surgery. He treats a wide range of complex spinal pathologies, including oncological, degenerative, and traumatic conditions. He is also involved in clinical research in association with the University of Montreal and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Neuroscience and Neurological Disorders, frequently reviewing articles for various medical journals, such as PLOS ONE.<\/p>\n

Dr. Govshievich completed his medical degree (MDCM) at McGill University and then specialized in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Montreal. In 2020, he trained under Dr. Scott Levin at the University of Pennsylvania, gaining additional expertise in microsurgery and lower limb reconstruction. Since his return to Montreal, Dr. Govshievich has been an associate member at Notre-Dame Hospital, practicing general plastic surgery, hand surgery, and reconstructive microsurgery. He has a particular interest in imaging modalities in plastic surgery, including ultrasound and infrared thermography.<\/p>\n

Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Dr. McGinn brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our clinic, with a feminine perspective and a warm approach. Her medical journey began at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, leading her to graduate in 2022 from the prestigious plastic and reconstructive surgery program at Western University. To further deepen her surgical knowledge, she traveled to Paris for a fellowship at the renowned Institut de la Main and the International Wrist Center, specializing in minimally invasive hand and wrist surgery. Additionally, Dr. McGinn honed her aesthetic skills at the Westmount Institute of Plastic Surgery under the renowned Drs. Daniel Borsuk and Bill Papanastasiou. This global training experience enables her to offer world-class cosmetic and reconstructive procedures right here in our local community. During her residency, she earned an MBA and focused on operational strategy in value-based medicine, ensuring that patient well-being and satisfaction are at the heart of healthcare delivery. Beyond her medical accomplishments, Dr. McGinn is also an entrepreneur at heart. Before her medical career, she worked as an intensive care nurse at Health Sciences North and founded a private swim and first aid instruction business called iSwim.<\/p>\n

Dr. Julien Shine is a skilled plastic surgeon who brings a diversified expertise to the medical field, with a background spanning both engineering and medicine. Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Shine obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University in 2014, highlighting a strong foundation in problem-solving and innovation that seamlessly transitioned into the intricacies of surgical procedures.<\/p>\n

Dr. Shine obtained a Medical Doctorate from Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al in 2019 with a citation of exceptional research involvement. He then completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Calgary in 2024, where he was awarded the Associate Dean\u2019s LePer of Excellence for his involvement in the education of medical students.<\/p>\n

It was during his residency in plastic surgery that Dr. Shine completed an internship at the Centre M\u00e9tropolitain de Chirurgie in 2022. He was impressed by the Centre\u2019s efficient working environment and by our team\u2019s sustained involvement with the trans community, and decided to join us to specialize in gender-affirming procedures. He also shares his practice with the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l\u2019\u00cele-de-Montr\u00e9al, where he focuses mainly on hand and breast surgery. Known for his compassionate care and dedication to patient well-being, Dr. Shine focuses on delivering exceptional results while prioritizing the overall health of his patients.<\/p>\n

Dr. Shine has several podium and poster presentations to his credit at provincial and national plastic surgery conferences, and has also co-authored numerous publications since 2017.<\/p>\n

With a combination of medical expertise, technical skills, and a commitment to advancing the field of plastic surgery, Dr. Shine is dedicated to providing high-quality care to his patients and making a positive impact in the healthcare community.<\/p>\n

Dr. Zo\u00e9 Rubin is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. She earned her medical degree from the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, then completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Ottawa. She went on to complete additional fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at the University of British Columbia and in foot and ankle reconstruction at the University of Ottawa.<\/p>\n

Dr. Rubin is delighted to return to Montreal to join the teams at EVO Medical Laboratory and the orthopedic surgery department at Notre-Dame Hospital, where she will provide specialized care for traumatic and reconstructive foot and ankle conditions.<\/p>\n
